“Brigata Bianca”: il 22 gennaio esce l’ album da solista di Samuel

 “Uscire con un album solista quando fai parte di una band, è una prova decisamente dura da superare”, dichiara l’artista piemontese lanciando ‘Brigata Bianca’, la sua nuova fatica discografica. Ma anche questa volta, terminato l’ascolto, impossibile non promuoverlo a pieni voti.

Il Disco

Si intitola ‘Brigata Bianca’ il nuovo album solista di Samuel, che uscirà il 22 gennaio a quattro anni dal suo precedente cd ‘Il Codice Della Bellezza’ (2017).  Anticipato dai singoli ‘Tra un Anno’ e ‘Cocoricò’, il disco racchiude quindici tracce inedite scritte e cantate al ‘Golfo Mistico’, il suo quartier generale torinese dal quale l’artista si è collegato in diretta streaming, per regalare alla stampa un mini live di cinque pezzi e una lunga chiacchierata a cuore aperto.

“Grazie a Marco Rainò, grande amico architetto e designer di Torino, abbiamo disegnato per ogni titolo una piccola bandiera che raccontasse graficamente la canzone oltre a una più grande, che le raccogliesse tutte. Con il celebre stilista Francesco Pignatelli, abbiamo quindi pensato di ricamarle sopra ad un’elegante giacca militare da parata. Il colbacco invece lo avevo acquistato anni fa in Islanda, a Reykjavík, dove mi ero recato alla ricerca dell’aura boreale”.

Il ritorno all’ elettronica, alla musica tribale e all’ hip hop

“Il nome del rifugio ‘Golfo Mistico’ dove mi sono rinchiuso a lavorare durante i lunghi e complicati mesi della pandemia, ha preso spunto dall’ultimo tour estivo, grazie al quale ho avuto la possibilità di suonare per le meravigliose Isole Eolie, attraverso suggestivi live in barca a vela. Con il disco precedente avevo voluto staccare dal mio mondo sonoro, e la produzione mi aveva favorito nel renderlo pop proprio come lo avevo pensato. Con ‘Brigata Bianca’ ho sentito il bisogno di ritornare all’elettronica, alla musica tribale e all’hip hop, che ascoltavo già molti anni fa. La musica è il mio cibo, e questi sono i generi dei quali mi sono sempre nutrito.”

“In questa nuova avventura discografica sono stato affiancato da una truppa pazzesca di amici e artisti, ovvero Colapesce, Ensi, Fulminacci, Willie Peyote, Johnny Marsiglia, Roy Paci oltre a una squadra di produttori molto forti del calibro di Michele Canova, Federico Nardelli, Ale Bavo, Dade, Mace & Venerus, Machweo, e Strage”. 

Le canzoni

“Quindici le canzoni, tra cui ‘Nemmeno la luce’, che amo particolarmente e nella quale sono riuscito a far convivere cantautorato con l’elettronica, il massimo per me, ‘Bum Bum Bum’ scritta con Dade, voce dei Linea 77 in ft. con Ensi e ‘Cocoricò’. In questo brano, scritto in collaborazione con Colapesce e Federico Nardelli, ho raccontato una nottata indimenticabile trascorsa con Subsonica e Bluvertigo, dopo un concerto al ‘Velvet di Rimini. Ci capitava spesso a metà degli anni ’90 di suonare insieme e le serate finivano spesso in maniera molto surreale e divertente. In quella occasione Morgan si superò, venendo a bussare all’alba alle finestre delle nostre stanze di albergo, scavalcando i balconi. Eravamo tutti distrutti, dopo una seratona al locale, ma lui probabilmente manco se la ricorda più!”
